No. 22 Clemson Travels to Boston College, Maryland this Weekend

The 22nd-ranked Clemson women’s tennis team will travel to Weymouth, MA and College Park, MD to take on the 53rd-ranked Boston College Eagles (7-7, 1-3 ACC) and No. 73 Maryland Terrapins (6-7, 0-3 ACC) on Friday and Sunday, respectively. Clemson (9-6, 2-1 ACC) takes on Boston College at 3:00 pm Friday at the Weymouth Tennis Courts and Maryland at the Cole Field House Courts at 11:00 am Sunday. The two matches will put an end to a stretch of 12 matches of which 11 were played away from home. The Tigers have played eight of their last nine matches against teams ranked 26th or higher in the ITA Polls. Clemson fell at No. 13 Baylor, 4-3, in their most recent action in Waco, TX on Tuesday before flying directly to Boston. Clemson holds a 6-0 all-time mark against the Eagles and a 29-3 advantage over Maryland. Last season, Clemson defeated then-No. 28 Maryland, 5-2 at home and then No. 38 Boston College, 4-3, also at home. Clemson has three players ranked in singles play, led by Keri Wong (47th). Klara Vyskocilova (103) and Nelly Ciolkowski (112) are also in the top-125 in singles. Vyskocilova is 17-6 on the season and has won four straight matches, including a 3-0 mark in ACC play. Wong is 18-7 and boasts a 12-2 mark at flight two singles and a 3-0 mark in the ACC. Wong and Josipa Bek are ranked 17th in the nation in doubles, and are 13-5 this season overall and 2-1 in ACC play. Monika Kochanova and Vyskocilova have teams up a team-high 20 times, and have a 16-4 record in those matches, including a 12-1 mark at three. After these two on the road, the Tigers will return for home matches against top-15 squads Duke and North Carolina on Mar. 30 and Apr. 1.
