The 19th-ranked Clemson women’s tennis team will take on No. 42 South Florida in Tampa, FL on Friday at 2:00 pm at the USF Varsity Courts. South Florida (3-7) is coming off a win over No. 36 Florida State, whom Clemson plays on Sunday at noon at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center in Tallahassee.
The Tigers (10-5, 0-2 ACC) have played seven of their past eight matches against top-25 competition, and are looking for their first ACC win of the season. Should Clemson defeat Florida State, it would give Nancy Harris her 85th career ACC win, which would take over the school mark.
Clemson is 14-6 against South Florida all-time, and 26-8 all-time against FSU, and 9-2 in Tallahassee. Clemson defeated South Florida, 6-1, in Clemson last season. The Bulls took the doubles point before the Tigers answered by sweeping the six singles matches.
Clemson defeated the Seminoles in Clemson by a 5-2 margin on March 7, 2010. The Tigers took the doubles point and wins at No. 2, 3, 4, and 6 singles positions.
After playing Florida State on Sunday, Clemson will be off until a March 21 match at College of Charleston.
