Clemson Notes:

  • Clemson (9-3-2, 3-1-2 ACC) is coming off a 1-0 loss to No. 20 Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Ind. and a 1-0 win over Louisville in Louisville, Ky. last week.
  • As a team, Clemson ranks first in the nation in four offensive statistical categories: total points (121), total assists (45), points per game (8.64) and assists per game (3.21). The team is third nationally in total goals (45) and sixth in scoring offense (2.71).
  • Senior Catrina Atanda leads the team in scoring with nine goals and four assists for 22 points. Four of Atanda’s nine goals were game-winners for the Tigers, a figure which ranks 17th nationally.
  • Sophomore Sam Staab has a team-best nine assists so far in 2016. She ranks third in the nation in that category, and is sixth nationally in assists per game (0.64).
  • Staab and senior Jenna Weston are tied for second on the team in scoring with 11 points apiece. Weston picked up her fourth goal of the season, and third game-winner of the season, in the Tigers’ 1-0 victory at Louisville.
  • Fifteen different players have scored at least one goal for the Tigers so far in 2016, and nineteen different players have at least one assist on the season. Goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan became the 19th player to tally an assist on the season on Oct. 9, when she assisted on the game-winning goal in Clemson’s 1-0 win over the Cardinals.
  • Sheridan has played 1,023 minutes in goal in 12 contests for the Tigers, posting 41 saves while allowing 11 goals.

Miami Notes:

  • Miami (8-6, 3-3 ACC) lost its two matches last week, at No. 15 North Carolina 3-1 and a Pittsburgh 1-0 in double overtime.
  • Kristina Fisher has seven goals and six assists for 20 points and Gracie Lachowecki has nine goals and one assist for 19 points on the season.
  • Phallon Tullis-Joyce has started all 14 matches in goal for the Hurricanes, posting 45 save while allowing 11 goals.

Series Notes:

  • Clemson has a 4-7-1 all-time record in the series against Miami.
  • The Tigers have won two in a row in the series, most recently winning 2-1 in double overtime on Sept. 27, 2015 in Coral Gables, Fla. Jenna Weston scored in regulation, and Emily Byorth netted the golden goal in the 106th minute of play to send Clemson home with the victory.
