The 15th-ranked women’s tennis team will take on the College of Charleston (7-6) on Monday at 1:00 pm at the Tennis Center at Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant, SC. The team is currently on spring break, and is spending the week in training before getting back into ACC play at the end of the week. Live scoring is available at Clemsontigers.com.
Clemson (12-5, 1-2 ACC) is 21-1 all-time against the Cougars, including a 2-0 mark last season. C of C and Clemson met in the first match of the season last year, with Clemson taking a 7-0 decision. The Tigers then ousted College of Charleston in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Clemson.
Clemson has won two straight matches, but has been off since a 5-2 road win at Florida State on Mar. 13. The Tigers gave Nancy Harris her 85th career ACC win, setting the school mark.
Four Tigers are in the singles rankings this week, with Josipa Bek moving up to 12th, a season-best for her. Keri Wong is ranked 62nd, sophomore Nelly Ciolkowski is 113th and ranked for the first time this season, and freshman Klara Vyskocilova is 123rd.
Bek and Wong also ascended to the No. 1 position in doubles, becoming the first doubles team in Clemson history to garner that ranking. The pair is 21-6 together this year.
After playing in Charleston, the Tigers will head to Wake Forest (Mar. 26, 12:00 pm) and NC State (Mar. 27, 1:00 pm) to get back in to ACC play.
