CLEMSON, SC – Coming off a 7-0 win at the College of Charleston on Monday of Spring Break, the 15th-ranked women’s tennis team will head to Winston-Salem, NC and Raleigh, NC for dual matches on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Clemson (13-5, 1-2 ACC) takes on Wake Forest (6-7, 0-3) at noon on Saturday, and will play NC State (10-3, 1-2) at 1:00 pm on Sunday.
Live scoring is available for both matches is available here: Saturday LiveStats (12:00 pm)
The pair of matches will be key in ACC play, as each of the teams is looking to gain footing in what is one of the most competitive seasons in recent history. Seven ACC teams rank among the nation’s top 25, and all 12 schools are in the top 60 nationally.
Clemson leads the all-time series with Wake Forest, 25-17, and is 37-4 against the Wolfpack.
The Tigers feature the nation’s top doubles squad in juniors Josipa Bek and Keri Wong. It is the first time in school history that a Clemson doubles team has garnered the top spot.
Bek is the top singles player for the Tigers as well, as she ranks 12th in the nation. Bek needs just one win to move into 10th in Clemson’s all-time singles wins list. She is currently 87-31 in her career. She would tie 2010 graduate and former doubles partner Ina Hadziselimovic for that tenth spot.
Three other Tigers are ranked in singles play, including Wong (No. 62), sophomore Nelly Ciolkowski (No. 113) and freshman Klara Vyskocilova (No. 123).
The Tigers will return to Clemson after this trip, and have Boston College and Maryland on the slate for April 2 and 3.
