March 5, 2011

CLEMSON, SC – The 11th-ranked Clemson women’s tennis team will play their sixth consecutive top-25 team when they play host to the No. 12 University of Miami in a dual match on Sunday at noon at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center. In the event of rain, the contest will take place at the Indoor Tennis Center, which sits beside the outdoor courts.

Live scoring will be available at ClemsonTigers.com, and admission is free to the event.

Clemson (10-4, 0-1 ACC) is trying to make Nancy Harris the winningest coach in school history in terms of ACC victories. Harris is tied with Andy Johnston with 84 career ACC victories.

The Tigers dropped their 2011 ACC opener with Georgia Tech earlier in the week, as the Jackets won all three singles matches that came down to a third set. The Tigers were without nationally ranked freshman Klara Vyskocilova, who missed the match due to injury.

Junior Josipa Bek, ranked 15th in the country, carries a 22-6 overall record this year and a 13-2 mark in the spring with both losses coming to top-ten opponents. She’ll face another in No. 10 Bianca Eichkorn on Sunday in matchup of two of the nation’s top players.

Keri Wong enters the match ranked 58th in the country, and playing strong tennis heading in to the match.
