Men’s Swimming & Diving Prepared for ACC Championships

CHRISTIANSBURG, VA – The Clemson men’s swimming team will compete in the 2012 ACC Championships at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center this week. The meet will begin with a pair of relays on Wednesday, February 22 and conclude on Saturday, February 25. The host school for the event is Virginia Tech.

The Tigers finished 6-3 overall and 3-2 in conference dual meets this season, earning them a fifth-place finish at the conclusion of the regular season. The team is led by a strong class of seniors and an outstanding junior sprinter. Eric Bruck is the conference leader in the 50 freestyle, and he currently sits in second place in the 100 freestyle.

Chris Dart is also atop the conference rankings in the 100 backstroke, and he is currently in second place in the 200 IM and fourth place in the 200 backstroke. Clemson has also performed well in relays so far this season. The 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay squads currently lead the Atlantic Coast Conference.
