The Clemson Men’s Soccer team will travel to St Simons Island this weekend to participate in the “Field of Champions” event hosted by former Tiger Mike Potempa. The Tigers will compete against the College of Charleston at 12:00 PM, followed by a match against the US U-17 National Team at 3:00 PM.
The match against the U-17’s will feature world soccer phenom Freddy Adu, who was selected #1 in this year’s MLS Draft by DC United. Adu, 14, has been recognized as one of the best young soccer players in the world and had offers from some of the largest clubs in the world before deciding to stay in America and play in MLS.
The U-17 team will also compete in the morning against the College of Charleston at 10:00 AM.
