Clemson Head Soccer Coach Trevor Adair has announced the signing of four players to letters of intent to play soccer at Clemson in the fall of 2003. This year’s signees included Adrian Chevannes, Hector Quintantar, Olatomiwa Ogunsola, and Phillip Marfuggi.
Chevannes is a defender from Fort Worth, TX. He played for Club Dallas, Pumas and Mid Cities Tejanos club teams. He attended Fossil Ridge High School in Fort Worth, TX, and is currently enrolled at Edison Academic Center in Bradenton, FL. He is in the United States Under 17 national Team Residency Program. He is also a member of the ODP Region III team and was a member of the ODP National Championship team for his age group. In high school he was a district MVP and was a kicker on his high school football team.
Quintanar is a center midfield/forward from Round Rock, TX. He played on the Austin Longhorns 85 club team. In high school he was a four-year varsity player and was named an all-district performer.
Ogunsola is a forward/midfielder from Woodbridge, VA. He played for the Potomac Cougars Club team in Potomac, VA. He played at Hylton High School in Woodbridge, VA and currently attends Edison Academic Center in Bradenton, FL. He has been involved in the ODP program for seven years. He is also involved in the United States Under 17 National Team Residency program. Ogunsola is a member of the Region I ODP team and the Virginia State ODP team.
Marfuggi is a goalkeeper form Manalapan, NJ. He was a member of the PDA United club team. He attended West Windsor High School in West Windsor, NJ. He currently attends the Edison Academic Center in Bradenton, FL. Marfuggi participates in the United States Under 17 National Team Residency Program. He is a member of the Region I ODP program and a member of the New Jersey State ODP team.
Clemson is expecting to add more signees at a later date.
“This is the beginning of another great recruiting class that brings tremendous international experience to the team,” said Clemson Head Coach Trevor Adair. “Every player will challenge immediately for playing time, thus improving our team depth.”
