Men’s Soccer Off To A 2-0 Start.

Sept. 6, 2000

SPARTANBURG, S.C.–The #4 ranked Clemson Tiger soccer team defeated the Wofford Terriers 4-0 tonight September 6, at Snyder Field in Spartanburg, SC for their second straight win to start the season. The Tigers improve to 2-0 overall while the Terriers fall to 0-1 for the year.

Clemson’s freshman class once again led the Tigers to victory. Freshman Steven Rhyne, Oskar Bringsved and Nick Rivera scored the second, third and fourth goals of the game. Rhyne scored his second of the season in the first half off a feed from senior Ross Goodacre. Goodacre also scored Clemson’s first goal of the game with a penalty kick just under 19 minutes into the game. Bringsved also scored his second of the year with a score in the 49th minute off an assist from last year’s team leader in points scored and goals, Ian Fuller. Goodacre tallied his second assist and fourth point on the night when he found Rivera, for his first goal of the season.

The Clemson Tigers will play again this Sunday, September 10, when they play host to the North Carolina Tar Heels in the ACC season opener for the Tigers. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m.
