Men’s Soccer Defeats South Carolina, 1-0

CLEMSON, SC – Ian Fuller scored late in the second half in leading Clemson to a 1-0 win over South Carolina in a men’s intercollegiate soccer match at Clemson, SC Friday evening.

The victory was the 100th career win for Clemson Head Coach Trevor Adair. Adair has a 100-51-13 record in his career. At Brown University, he compiled a record of 34-24-5 in four years. At Clemson, he has a 66-27-8 record as he is in his fifth season. Clemson has now won five matches in a row over the Gamecocks dating back to the 1996 season. The Tigers have also won 17 of the 27 matches played in the series.

The Tigers have won four matches in a row and improve to 7-5-2 overall, while South Carolina falls to 8-4-2. The loss broke a four-match winning streak for the Gamecocks.

Fuller scored at the 77:40 mark, 12:20 left to go in regulation. Russell Keifer crossed the ball to Jeremy Iwaszkowiec. Iwaszkowiec touched the ball to Fuller who sent a 18-yard shot into the left corner of the goal. This was Fuller’s third goal of the season.

Clemson will play host to UNC Charlotte Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. in the Tigers’ next action. CLEMSON 1, SOUTH CAROLINA 0 1.
