McBride Qualifies For Third Career NCAA Championship Meet

MEET SCHEDULE // LIVE RESULTS

INDIANAPOLIS – Clemson senior Chris McBride has been officially named a participant for the 2019 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Track and Field and Cross Country Committee announced Feb. 26. The 2019 national championship meet is set to commence March 8 and 9 at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama. McBride will compete in the long jump on Friday, March 8 at 6:30 p.m. (EST).

McBride qualified for his third national championship meet after rewriting his own program record in the long jump at the 2019 ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships in Blacksburg, Virginia on Feb. 22. McBride won his second ACC title after achieving a distance of 7.82m (25-8) on his first leap of the day at the conference championship. The Lithonia, Georgia native has already secured Second Team All-America status, at the very least. If McBride finishes in eighth or better, he’ll garner his second career First Team All-America distinction.

ESPN3 will stream the championships live starting at 6:30 p.m. March 8 and starting at 5 p.m. March 9. A re-air of the championship will take place starting at 10 p.m. Sunday, March 10 on ESPN2 and again Monday, March 11 starting at 10 p.m. on ESPNU.
