Maryland Defeats Clemson 1-0 In Men’s Soccer

COLLEGE PARK, MD – Scott Buete scored with 4:21 left in the match in leading seventh-ranked Maryland to a 1-0 victory over fourth-ranked Clemson in a men’s Atlantic Coast Conference soccer match at College Park, MD Saturday night.

With the win, Maryland improves to 12-3 overall and 4-1 in the ACC. Clemson falls to 10-2-2 overall and 2-2-1 in league play. The Tigers are ranked fourth by Soccer America and sixth by the NSCAA. Maryland is ranked seventh in both the Soccer America and NSCAA polls.

This was Buete’s second goal of the season. He was assisted on the play by Sumed Ibrahim and Clarence Goodson.

Clemson will play at Davidson on Wednesday, October 30 in the Tigers’ next action.
