CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson sophomore defender Julie Mackin is back in action with the U.S. U-19 Women’s National Team for a session from May 5-12 at the Elite Athletic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. Mackin, who is from Castle Rock, Colo. is one of 24 players in attendance at the camp.
Mackin is a veteran of the U.S. WNT camps and events, as she attended several camps last year, the last at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Carson, Calif. with the U-19 Women’s National Team. Also in 2016 Mackin traveled to La Manga, Spain and the United Kingdom to participate in friendlies with the U-18 WNT.
Mackin, started all 19 games anchoring the Clemson back line in 2017, played 1,647 minutes, and recorded two assists on the season. The Tiger defense only allowed 15 goals, for a 0.75 goals against average, on the season.
