Leduc, Navarro Fall Short in NCAA Doubles Sweet 16

ORLANDO – Clemson seniors Marie-Alexandre Leduc and Fernanda Navarro finished out their Clemson careers in the Round of 16 at the NCAA Doubles Championship on Wednesday. The duo faced a narrow 7-6, 7-6 defeat to the third-seeded pair from UCLA, Gabby Andrews and Ayan Broomfield, to conclude their Championship run.

The Tigers and the Bruins traded leads through set one before UCLA used its momentum from a game six win to take the first set, 7-6.

The second set also featured back-and-forth action between the doubles teams. The Tigers made two comebacks in the set to tie the battle at five-all and six-all, but could not overcome the pressure put on by the Bruins.

Leduc and Navarro finished the 2018-19 campaign with a 29-9 mark in doubles play. Against nationally ranked opponents, the duo went 9-7 with five top 30 victories.
