Lady Tigers Look to Stay Hot Against Georgia Tech

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s basketball team will open the 2011 home portion of their ACC schedule as they take on Georgia Tech (13-4, 1-0 ACC) at 3:00 pm on Sunday in Littlejohn Coliseum. The game will be televised live by CSS and can be heard throughout the state on the Clemson Tiger Sports Network.

The Lady Tigers (8-8, 1-0 ACC) are coming off a 76-74 win at NC State on Thursday night, in which they snapped a 12-game ACC road losing streak. It was Itoro Coleman’s first ACC win, and she became the third Tiger coach to win an ACC debut.

Clemson is 7-2 at home in 2010-11. Seniors Sthefany Thomas and Kirstyn Wright lead Clemson in scoring at 12.9 ppg each. Wright has been red-hot from behind the arc, hitting 10 of her last 14 three-point attempts. Thomas is coming off a career-high 23 points at NC State, where she hit 9-18 from the field.

Clemson features six players on the roster from Georgia, including starters Wright (Stone Mountain, GA), and Lindsey Mason (Woodstock, GA).

After the game with Tech, Clemson will travel to Miami for a televised 8:30 pm showdown on Friday night, and return to Littlejohn that Sunday against Maryland at 3:00 pm.
