CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson Women’s Basketball team will play Duke in Durham, NC Sunday afternoon (January 16) at 1:00 p.m. The game will be televised live on ESPN-2.
Clemson has a 11-5 record overall, and a 2-2 mark in the ACC. The Lady Tigers are 5-1 at home this season. The Lady Tigers have won two games in a row. Clemson is coming off a 71-56 win over third-ranked N.C. State on Thursday, January 13. at Clemson, SC.
Duke will enter the game with a 15-1 record overall and a 4-0 mark in the ACC. The Blue Devils are ranked eighth by the USA Today poll and 11th by the Associated Press.
Clemson is led in scoring by freshman Chrissy Floyd. She is averaging 12.6 ppg. The Lady Tigers are led in rebounding by Erin Batth with a 7.6 rpg. mark. Batth is the Lady Tigers’ second leading scorer with a 9.8 ppg. average. Krystal Scott leads the Lady Tigers in assists with 45 or 2.8 assists per game.
This will be the 49th meeting between Clemson and Duke on the basketball court. Clemson leads the overall series 31-17. Clemson has won the last two games in the series, and five of the last eight played between the two schools.
Duke is ranked 11th by the Associated Press. The Lady Tigers are 4-4 overall under Head Coach Jim Davis when facing an 11th-ranked team.
The Clemson Women’s basketball team will be looking for its third ACC win in a row. Clemson has defeated 15th-ranked North Carolina, 60-59, on January 10. On January 13, the Lady Tigers defeated third-ranked N.C. State, 71-56. The Lady Tigers have never defeated three-top 25 teams in a row.
