Lady Tiger Track & Field in Clemson Invitational This Weekend

Meet Program

The Lady Tiger track & field team will face a stiff test this weekend at the Clemson Invitational. Twelve women’s track & field teams will compete at the school’s indoor complex, including ACC foes Georgia Tech, Miami (FL), North Carolina, N.C. State, and Wake Forest. The field also includes SEC programs Alabama and Auburn.

Clemson has received a boost from the addition of three mid-year enrollees, who first competed last weekend at the Kentucky Invitational. Two of the three won a pair of titles together for the Lady Tiger squad, and all three will be back in action this weekend to help Clemson.

Patricia Mamona, who won the triple jump at the Kentucky Invitational, posted an NCAA provisional qualifying mark with the fifth-best mark in school history. She will compete in the long jump Friday and triple jump on Saturday. Liane Weber, who hails from Germany, won the long jump at Kentucky. This weekend, she will focus on competing in the 60m dash, high jump, and shot put. Linda Buchholz, also a native of Germany, will compete in the 60m hurdles, high jump, and shot put as well.

On Friday, the women’s team will start off with the distance medley relay and 60m high hurdles. Michelle Rogers, and Della Clark, Ra’Sheena Parker, Kristine Scott, and Liane Weber.

The triple jump and pole vault will kick off Saturday action for the women. Barringer, Mamona, Rogers, Wineglass, and Beth Jordan, Helen Kirkland will take part in the pole vault.

Tia Perry, and Ope Sobanjo will compete in the 400m dash at 12:50 PM. The high jump and shot put competitions begin at 1:00 PM. Anni Korhonen will join the mid-year enrollees in the high jump, while Clark and Porter are also entered in the shot put.

The 800m race is at 1:25 PM and will feature four Lady Tigers. At 2:05, Hill, Parker, Scott, Sobanjo, and Wineglass will take part in the 200m dash. In the 3000m, Lauren Marriott are entries for the Clemson squad. The 4x400m relay teams will be the last to see action on Saturday. The Lady Tigers have two squads entered in that competition.
