Khalil Greene Named Louisville Slugger National Co-Player-of-the-Week

Senior shortstop Khalil Greene was named one of three “Louisville Slugger” National Players-of-the-Week May 6 in the weekly award given by Collegiate Baseball. The Tigers played just two games during the previous week, both at #9 Georgia Tech in Atlanta. In those two games, the Key West, FL native was 7-for-8 with a double, two homers, and seven RBIs. It was the second time he was so honored by Collegiate Baseball, as he garnered National Player-of-the-Week honors on March 18, 2002. Greene raised his ACC-best batting average to .476 after the three-game series with the Yellow Jackets. Greene, who is currently riding a 13-game hitting streak, needs just eight hits to tie the ACC record for career hits and one double to do the same in the double’s category. Greene also has 15 homers, 61 RBIs, and a .551 on-base percentage to go along with his outstanding .966 fielding percentage.
