Horgan Attends U-19 Training Camp

CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson women’s soccer player Shannon Horgan received an invitation to attend the U.S. Under-19 Women’s National Team’s May 2015 training camp. The camp runs from May 16-23 at the United States Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. Horgan was one of 24 players, and one of only four college players, invited to the camp, led by Women’s Development Coach Jitka Klimkova. All players at the camp are eligible for the team that will attempt to qualify for the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup held in Papua New Guinea.

Horgan, a Long Beach, N.Y. native, was invited to the camp as a defender. The rising sophomore had a stellar freshman campaign for the Tigers in 2014, and was named to the ACC All-Freshman team for her efforts. Horgan recorded 10 points, tied for third most on the team. She led the team with six assists on the year and also contributed two goals, both of which were game winners.
