CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson sophomore forward Shannon Horgan is attending her third U-19 USWNT training camp in 2016. The team’s third camp is being held in Chula Vista, Calif. home to the U.S. Olympic Training Center. U.S. Soccer Development Coach Jitka Klimkova is running the camp, running May 14-21.
With this invite, Horgan will have attended all U-19 USWNT camps in 2016 in addition to attending one U-18 USWNT camp in 2015. This invite adds to the already impressive national team experience of the Clemson squad, making her one of six Tigers to compete at the national level. Juniors, Emily and Gabby Byorth will attend the U-23 USWNT camp May 1-7, freshman Sam Staab has attended 1 camp for the U-19 USWNT, 2016 signee Julie Mackin attended an event for the U-19 USWNT, and junior Kailen Sheridan competed with the full Canadian National team in it’s journey to winning the Algarve Cup in Portugal in March.
