Golf Remains #2 in GCAA/Precept Final Regular Season Poll

NORMAN, OK – Clemson is ranked second in the nation in the final GCAA Precept regular season college golf poll. Bids for the NCAA regional tournaments will be extended on Monday. The Florida Gators earned 29 first-place votes to stay the nation’s top-ranked men’s program in the GCAA/Precept Coaches final regular season poll. Florida has spent the entire regular season in the top sport after debuting in a tie for second in the preseason poll.

Clemson – ACC winner and defending national champion – received the only remaining first place vote to stay in second. It marked the sixth straight poll that Clemson has been ranked second.

UCLA remained in third and is followed by SEC champ Georgia, Arizona State and Pac-10 winner Arizona. Georgia Tech slipped on spot to seventh while Big 12 titleholder Texas moved up to eighth. Oklahoma State dropped two places to ninth and Conference USA champ TCU moved back inside the top 10.

Minnesota fell one spot to No.11. South Carolina, UNLV and Brigham Young stood pat at Nos. 12-14. California climbed a notch to No. 15 after spending five straight polls at No. 16. Southern California dropped to No. 16 and is followed by New Mexico, Augusta State, Oklahoma and Duke.

Wake Forest stayed at No. 21 while Washington and Arkansas switched spots 22 and 23, respectively. Kansas and Kentucky remained ranked at 24th and 25th.

No teams were dropped from the previous rankings.

The GCAA/Precept Coaches Poll is voted on by a panel of head coaches at Division I institutions. All are members of the Golf Coaches Association of America. The GCAA/Precept Coaches poll will reflect NCAA Championships final team results.
