Glover Goes Over Million Dollar Mark

Former Clemson All-American Lucas Glover went over the $1 million mark in season earnings on Sunday when he finished 22nd at the Barclay’s Classic in Harrison, NY. The native of Greenville, SC finished with a score of 286 after rounds of 70-73-72-71, and now has won $1,018,947 for the season.

Glover, an All-American at Clemson from 1999-01, is just the second former Clemson golfer in history to win at least $1 million in one season on the PGA Tour. Jonathan Byrd has done it each of the last three years. Byrd’s $1,462,713 won in 2003 is the most money won by a former Tiger in one season.

Glover has almost doubled his 2004 earnings of $557,454 and is currently 40th on the PGA Tour money list for 2005. In terms of other statistics, Glover is third on tour on final round scoring average with a 69.44 figure, is 12th in driving distance (299.6 yards), 13th in eagles/hole and 14th in greens in regulation at 68.3 percent.

Glover is also sixth on tour in top 10 finishes. His 22nd place finish at the Barclay’s Classic was his seventh top 25 of the year in his 15 events played. He has made nine cuts overall.

Clemson has three other former golfers in the top 135 of the PGA Tour money list this week. Charles Warren is 89th, D.J. Trahan is 102nd and Jonathan Byrd is 131st.
