Hello Tiger fans!

I want to extend a giant thank you, because Clemson was once again chosen by Southern Living for having the “South’s Best Tailgate.”  The tailgating atmosphere certainly leads to our terrific home environment at Death Valley.  That was never more evident than Saturday, when we had ESPN College GameDay on Bowman Field for a second time this season, and a tremendous setting for the game against Florida State.  While the outcome was not what we hoped for, we still have five games to go in what can be a memorable season.

Mike Money and our marketing staff did an excellent job of creating a tremendous environment not only Saturday for the game, but also Friday night for our annual Rock the ‘John event to introduce the 2013-14 men’s and women’s basketball teams.  Brad Brownell and Audra Smith did a great job entertaining the crowd with “rock star” performances as well!  It was a great night all-around as we near the tipoff to our basketball seasons.

On Friday, the University Board of Trustees gave final approval to a pair of athletic facility capital projects while granting pre-approval to six for future development.  Clemson has consistently been in the forefront of athletic facilities and accommodations for our student-athletes.  These projects provide a roadmap to continuing Clemson’s tradition of excellence in our facilities.  Davis Babb and the IPTAY staff are our partners in this effort, and I am anxious to begin the planning and fundraising for these important projects.  We are also excited about IPTAY’s recent announcement of the new Riggs level.  For more information on the different capital projects we will be undertaking, visit the following address (LINK).

I am honored to be part of the College Football Playoff Committee that was announced last week.  I look forward to serving on the committee, which includes great representatives throughout the country with the singular focus of selecting the four best teams available for a college football playoff.  It will be a lot of work, but I welcome the challenge of representing college football by bringing those four teams to be able to compete for a national championship.

If you would like to share anything about your experiences at Clemson, visit the following address (LINK).  While we cannot respond to every email that is received, please know they will all be read and your feedback will be greatly appreciated.
