CLEMSON, S.C. – Former Clemson All-Americans Beatrice Gumulya and Jessy Rompies reached the semifinals of the JiangXi Open, a $250,000 WTA tournament in Nanchang, China, on July 27. Gumulya and Rompies, both from Indonesia, defeated two higher-ranked doubles opponents in the Round of 16 and the quarterfinals, before falling to two top-130 players in the semifinals.
As a doubles duo at Clemson, Gumulya and Rompies won the doubles title at the ITA All-American Championships in the fall of 2014. They are the only Tiger doubles duo to win that prestigious title in program history. As seniors in 2014-15, the pair went 29-6 overall and 15-4 in dual matches, finishing the season ranked fourth in the nation in doubles, en route to earning All-America honors.
