Florida State defeats Clemson 4-0 in ACC Women’s Soccer Tournament

CARY, NC–Holly Peltzer scored two goals in leading fifth-ranked Florida State to a 4-0 win over Clemson in the quarterfinal round of the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Soccer Tournament at Cary, NC Wednesday afternoon.

Sel Kuralay and Viola Odebrecht both had one goal and one assist each in the match. Florida State improved to 17-2 overall, while Clemson falls to 9-8-2 this season.

Florida State is the third seeded team in the tournament, while Clemson is seeded sixth. The Seminoles are ranked fifth by Soccerbuzz.com, and sixth by both the Soccer America and the NSCAA polls.

Florida State had a 1-0 lead at halftime and extended the lead late in the second half as the Seminoles scored three goals in 4:11.

Florida State had 18 shots compared to Clemson five. Clemson’s goalkeeper Ashley Phillips had three saves in the contest.
