Five Clemson Soccer Players Named All-ACC

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Five Clemson men’s soccer players were named All-Atlantic Coast Conference as announced by the league office Thursday.

Oguchi Onyewu, Mark Lisi, Fabio Tambosi, and Doug Warren were all named to the first team, while Mike Potempa was named to the second team.

Onyewu is fifth on the team in scoring with 14 points, He has five goals and four assists this season. Mark Lisi leads the team in scoring with 13 goals and eight assists for 34 points. This markds the third year he has been named First-Team All-ACC. He has 37 career assists and is tied for fifth on the school list for most career assists. This season he was named National Player of the Week by SoccerTimes.com on September 25-October 1.

Tambosi is second on the team in scoring this season with 13 goals and five assists for 31 points. He is tied for the team lead in goals scored with 13.

Warren has given up only18 goals this season and has a 1.08 goal allowed average. Warren has 59 saves this season in 1,497 minutes of play and has four solo shutouts this season.

Potempa is a stalwart defender who has started 14 matches this season. For his career, he has started 77 of the 77 contests he has played at Clemson. Last season he was named second team All-ACC as a defender as well.
