Five Clemson Golfers Qualify for South Carolina Match Play

Clemson, SC – Five current Clemson golfers have advanced to the South Carolina Match Play tournament. The event is being held at the par 72 Oldfield Golf Club in Okatie, SC. The 32-player match play competition begins on Friday. This is the most current Clemson golfers to make the South Carolina Match play field.

A 66 player field played 36 holes of medal play to determine the 32-player match play field. Clemson’s Luke Hopkins was the number-one qualifier by four shots with rounds of 68 and 65 or an 11 under par 133 total.

Corbin Mills (Easley, SC), who will be a freshman at Clemson this coming year, finished fourth with rounds of 70-68, while classmate Crawford Reeves (Greenville, SC) was tied for eighth at 141 after rounds of 69-72.

McCuen Elmore, who will be a sophomore at Clemson next year, finished tied for 11th at even par 144 after rounds of 71-73. Brewer Bradshaw was a fifth current Tiger to make the field after rounds of 72-75. He finished tied for 23rd.

While the Tigers have five of the 32 players in the match play field, none of the current Tigers will meet in the first round.
