First-Rate Exhibition Ends In 1-1 Draw

CLEMSON, SC – Clemson and Indiana battled to a 1-1 tie in a exhibition collegiate men’s soccer match at Clemson, S.C. Saturday night.

Indiana is ranked first in the nation in both the Soccer America and NSCAA poll. Clemson is ranked fourth in both rankings.

Clemson scored first at the 10:52 mark. Ross Goodacre touched the ball to Bob Cavanagh in the left corner. Cavanagh crossed the ball to Lisi who sent a diagonal shot to the right wall of the net.

Indiana tied the score at the 73:30 mark as Yuri Lavrinenko converted on a penalty kick.

The Tigers will open their 1999 season on Wednesday, September 1, as Clemson plays host to Davidson at 7:00 p.m. on Riggs Field.
