Eidukonyte Ranked 11th Nationally in Preseason Singles Poll

CLEMSON, S.C. – Senior Joana Eidukonyte is ranked 11^th in the nation in the preseason singles poll released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Tuesday afternoon. The native of Vilnius, Lithuania is coming off a 2015 spring season in which she was named an All-American in singles and an All-ACC First Team honoree.

Eidukonyte was ranked 16^th nationally in the ITA’s final singles poll of the 2015 season, after posting a 37-7 overall record. The 37 wins placed her in a tie for sixth place in Clemson history in terms of single season singles wins. She recorded 13 wins over top-100 singles opponents in 2014-15, including five over top-25 players.

Eidukonyte is set to compete in the inaugural Oracle/ITA Masters in Malibu, Calif. beginning on Friday, Sept. 18. Earlier this week, she also received a bid to compete in the main singles draw at the Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championship in Pacific Palisades, Calif. from Oct. 8-11.
