Clemson’s Nationally Ranked Soccer Teams Host Exhibition Matches This Weekend

Clemson, SC- Both the eighth-ranked Clemson men’s soccer team and the 12th-ranked women’s soccer team will host exhibition matches this weekend at Historic Riggs Field. The women’s team, coming off a 1-1 tie against Auburn on August 19, will play Mercer on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 PM while the men’s team will take on the United States Under-17 National Team on Sunday at 2:00 PM. The men were especially impressive in an 8-1 victory over the College of Charleston in the Tigers first exhibition match of the season on August 17.

This weekend’s matches will be the last exhibition matches of the season for both teams. The women’s regular season will begin on Sunday, September 2 as the Lady Tigers play host to Richmond. The men’s first regular season action will be on Friday, August 31 as they play Cal St.-Fullerton in the opening round of the Cal State Fullerton Invitational Tournament.
