CLEMSON, SC – Clemson women’s tennis player Ani Mijacika moved up one position to #2 in Tuesday’s Fila/ITA Tennis singles rankings. The Tiger sophomore has been ranked in the top five in all four singles polls in the 2008 spring season and spent two weeks as nation’s top player earlier this year.
Mijacika, a native of Makarska, Croatia, boasts a 19-5 overall record for the fall and spring seasons combined and has defeated nine top-40 opponents this year.
She was also listed twice in the doubles poll, at #17 with Federica van Adrichem and at #20 with Carol Salge. The team of Mijacika and Van Adrichem posted a 7-3 record during fall competition, while Mijacika and Salge have partnered in six of the Tigers’ last seven matches. The duo owns a 5-2 record during the stretch, including three wins over opponents ranked in the top 20 at the time.
Van Adrichem was also ranked in singles at #124 with a 10-8 overall record, while the team was listed at #34.
