Clemson’s Keri Wong Earns ESPN/Capital One Cup Honor

Clemson junior tennis player Keri Wong has earned a spot among the ESPN/Capital One Cup Impact Performances of the week for her 6-3, 6-0 win over Arkansas’ Stephanie Roy on May 15 to help the women’s tennis team advance to the NCAA Sweet 16.

Clemson defeated Wichita State and Arkansas in the Fayetteville, AR regional in the first two rounds. The Tigers, who were the 15th national seed, ousted the Razorbacks behind the strong play of Wong, who dropped a total of eight games in four total matches (two singles, two doubles) in the regional.

Wong’s singles season ended on Wednesday as she was eliminated form the NCAA Singles Tournament by defending champion Chelsey Gullickson.

She and Josipa Bek will play in the NCAA Doubles tournament on Thursday at 9:00 pm eastern in Stanford, CA.
