GREENSBORO, N.C. – Clemson middle hitter Danielle Hepburn has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the second time this year after pushing her team to a 2-0 record last week.
Hepburn, a junior from Miami, Fla., posted an overall hitting percentage of .392 in the two matches last week, racking up 31 kills against just two errors. Versus Wake Forest she registered 12 kills, zero errors and eight blocks as the Tigers won in four games. In the Tigers’ Saturday showdown at No. 13 Duke, she pounded 19 kills with only two errors to go along with eight digs and five total blocks as Clemson took down the Blue Devils in five games. Hepburn averaged 3.44 kills per game and 1.44 blocks per game for the week.
With the win against Duke, who was previously undefeated in conference, the Tigers are 8-0 in league play and 15-2 overall. They will play tonight at Georgia Tech as the only ACC team with a perfect conference record, and then will host Boston College and Maryland this weekend in Clemson.
