Clemson’s 2023-2024 roster sizes reflect individual teams’ preferences, uniquely tailored for competitive success at the discretion of each team’s head coach with oversight by the Athletics Department, as well as individual student-athletes’ choices related to athletics participation. Overall, Clemson’s women’s teams’ participation continues to grow. The new women’s lacrosse program, which had 28 female student-athletes during its inaugural season in 2022-2023, grew to 34 participants in 2023-2024. In addition, Clemson’s new women’s gymnastics program just completed its inaugural season in 2023-2024 with a roster of 18 female student-athletes.
Clemson is proud of its demonstrated history and continuing practice of program expansion for women athletes – women’s softball was added in 2019-2020, followed by women’s lacrosse in 2022-2023 and women’s gymnastics in 2023-2024 – to comply with Title IX’s equitable participation standards.
