Clemson’s Alix Lacelarie Named ACC Women’s Tennis Co-Player Of The Week

GREENSBORO, N.C.- Alix Lacelarie, a Clemson sophomore from Villeneuve-Les-Beziers, France was named ACC Co-Player of the Week after helping lead Clemson to an undefeated week with wins over #20 Georgia Tech and #48 Florida State. Lacelarie shared this week’s honor with Duke’s Kelly McCain. She is the third Tiger to earn ACC Player of the Week honors this season. Clemson teammates Julie Coin and Daniela Alvarez have also earned the accolade this year. Clemson is currently 16-3 overall and 6-0 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. The Tigers and Blue Devils are the only undefeated teams in the ACC, and will meet on Saturday, Apr. 12 at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center on Clemson’s campus. Clemson will also play North Carolina on Sunday, in its final regular season match.

Lacelarie defeated two ranked singles players last week to earn the conference honor. She won a 6-3, 6-3 decision over #70 Jamie Wong of Georgia Tech and was victorious over Florida State’s #83 Mihaela Moldovan 6-7(3), 6-3, 11-9. In doubles action, Lacelarie teamed with Daniela Alvarez to defeat Georgia Tech’s Morris and Shosho, 8-4 and Florida State’s Tantee and Tirapelli, 8-5. Lacelarie has a 13-4 overall record in dual singles matches and is 5-1 in ACC singles matches. The team of Lacelarie and Alvarez is undefeated at flight two doubles (13-0).
