#ClemsonFamily || Shannon Family Visits from the U.K.

Clemson freshman midfielder Oliver Shannon scored the second goal of his young Clemson career on Wednesday night, his first score at Historic Riggs Field, in the Tigers’ 6-0 win over Gardner-Webb. The moment was made even more special for the Tiger rookie because his grandparents and aunt were on hand to see it. John, Vera and Gill Shannon made the trip to South Carolina from Liverpool, U.K. to see their grandson and nephew play for the Tigers.

ClemsonTigers.com caught up with the Shannon’s after the game.

The Shannon’s are not the only family from the U.K. to make the trip to Clemson this fall, as junior Paul Clowes’ parents and sister visited from Cheshire for the Tigers’ season opener vs. Radford on Aug. 29. ClemsonTigers.com also talked to the Clowes Family during the visit:

The Shannon’s were also not the only players’ family that traveled a great distance to see the Tigers play on Wednesday, as sophomore Iman Mafi’s (Grimstad, Norway) parents and sister are also visiting Clemson this week. ClemsonTigers.com plans to catch up with the Mafi family over the next week.

Happy to have Oliver Shannon’s and Iman Mafi’s families at Riggs tonight! More to come later… #ClemsonFamily pic.twitter.com/I16kzXeB5Q
