Clemson Women’s Track and Field Team Competes in Day One of Tiger Indoor Classic

The Clemson Women’s Track and Field Team competed in the first of two days of competition at the Tiger Indoor Classic on Friday. Beth Jordan set the school record in the pole vault with a mark of 12’09.50″, and won the event. Other event winners included the distance medley relay team of Patrice McMillan, Thea Dix, Casey Phillips, and Candice Johnson with a time of 12:18.35, and Jenny Barton in the 5000m run with a time of 17:58.94.

Renata Miyamoto qualified for Saturday’s finals in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.69, Tia Perry also qualified at 8.88. Ashley Robinson finished eighth in the 5000m with a time of 19:15.94. Tonya Nwanko placed eighth in the long jump with a leap of 18’3.25″. In the shot put, Della Clark placed third with a throw of 44’4″, and Allison Bradshaw finished sixth with a mark of 42’2″.

Renata Miyamoto had a jump of 17’2″ in the long jump, Tia Perry also had a jump of 16’8″, and Charmayne Smith had a jump of 16’4.25″.
