Clemson Women’s Track And Field Concludes Competition On Day Two Of ACC Championships

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Clemson women’s track and field team concluded competition on day two of the ACC Championships in 10th place with 12 points. The Lady Tigers qualified seven sprinters for the finals of three events on Saturday. One of the day two highlights was Gisele Oliveira’s performance in the long jump. The senior from Porto Alegre, Brazil, earned All-ACC honors in the long jump with a second-place finish and provisional qualifying mark of 20’3″.

On the track, Randi Hinton qualified for the 60m finals with a season-best time of 7.60. Danielle Whaley also competed in the semi-finals of the 60m dash, recording a time of 7.71. Three Tigers qualified for the finals of the 200m, led by Danielle Whaley ran a 25.50, Jennifer Barton recorded a season-best time of 5:09.55 in the preliminaries of the mile, and Thea Dix and Thea Dix and Casey Phillips finished ninth with a time of 12:20.29.

Oliveira led Clemson in the long jump with her second-place finish and season-best mark of 20’3″. Renata Miyamoto also competed in the long jump, placing 18th with a leap of 16’7.25″. Anni Korhonen and Felicia Hawthorne represented Clemson in the high jump. Korhonen cleared 5’3″ to tie for 12th and Hawthorne had a clearance of 5’1″ to finish in a tie for 15th.
