Clemson Women’s Tennis To Host Furman Friday and MTSU Saturday

CLEMSON, S.C. – The 26th-ranked Clemson women’s tennis team will host in-state rival Furman University Friday and Middle Tennessee State University Saturday.

Clemson (2-1) and Furman (2-1) have met on the tennis court 33 times, with the Tigers winning 31 of those contests. The last time the Paladins defeated Clemson was in 1976. That year, the Tigers lost two 4-5 decisions to Furman. In last year’ s match at Furman, Clemson defeated the Paladins 5-3 in a shortened match.

The Tigers have never met Middle Tennessee State University on the court. The Lady Raiders are 1-5 this season.

The match against Furman is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. on Friday while Saturday’s match against MTSU is slated for 10:30 a.m. Both matches will be played at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center on the Clemson University campus.
