CLEMSON, SC – The No. 11 Clemson women’s tennis team (3-0) will play host to Charleston Southern (0-1) and No. 65 Winthrop (2-2) at 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm, respectively, on Tuesday. Both matches will take place at the Clemson Indoor Tennis Center and are free of charge. Live scoring is also available.
The Tigers got the season started off on a high note, defeating Troy, Memphis, and USC Upstate by a combined 16-0 margin to move to 3-0 on the season.
Maria Belaya were each 3-0 in singles and doubles play, and Wong dropped only four games in three matches at the no. 1 and no. 2 spots. Belaya was equally impressive in her spot, dropping only seven games in her three wins.
Freshman Klara Vyskocilova was also solid in her dual match openers, going 2-0 in singles, and won all three of her doubles matches.
Winthrop, who enters the week ranked 65th in the ITA Poll, will be the first ranked opponent for the Tigers in 2011.
The doubleheader will be the final home event for the Tigers before hosting the ITA Kickoff weekend on Jan. 29 and 30, where they will host the first two round of the National Team Indoor Championships.
