Clemson Women’s Tennis Drops 4-3 Decision To Miami

RALEIGH, NC – The 55th-ranked Clemson women’s tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision to the 35th-ranked University of Miami this afternoon in Coral Gables, FL. The Tigers drop to 6-8 while the Hurricanes improve to 11-5 overall.

Clemson’s Anna Savitskaya defeated Bettina Hafner 6-0, 7-5 at one singles while the Tiger’s Christina lost to Alanna Broderick 6-3, 6-0 at two singles. The Tiger’s Milena Stanoycheva was defeated 6-0, 6-4 by Marcy Hora at the three singles position while Clemson’s Laurence Jayet lost to Katia Bogomolova 6-1, 6-4 at the four slot. Ana Stiglic defeated Miami’s Sihem Berracer 7-5, 6-2 at five singles while Ana Dolinska won in three sets, 4-6, 6-1, 6-1 over the Hurricane’s Lauren Scaglione.

Maimi won two out of the three doubles matches to earn the doubles point for the Hurricanes. Clemson’s Stiglic and Oldock teamed up at three doubles to defeat Berraver and Hafner 8-5. At the top doubles position, the Tigers’ Dolinska and Jayet lost 9-8 (2) to Bogomolova and Broderick. The Hurricanes’ Scaglioine and Hora defeated Savitskaya and Stanoycheva 8-6 at two doubles.

Clemson travels to Tampa, FL, this Thursday where the Tigers will face the #49 South Florida Bulls.
