Clemson Women’s Tennis Defeats North Carolina-Greensboro, 8-0

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s tennis team defeated the North Carolina-Greensboro Spartans on Friday afternoon in Clemson by a score of 8-0. The Tigers record improves to 3-2 on the season, while the Spartans fall to 1-3.

In singles play, Clemson’s Alix Lacelarie defeated Sonnia Orellana of UNC-Greensboro by a score of 6-2, 6-0 at the number one position. At flight two singles, Tiger Anna Savitskaya was victorious over Lindsey Peel by a score of 6-2, 6-3. Milena Stanoycheva of Clemson downed Carlin Kannan at the number three singles spot, 6-2, 6-2. Clemson’s Laurence Jayet won a 6-4, 6-4 decision over Katie LaCoste of UNC-Greensboro at number four singles. At flight five singles, Tiger Ana Stiglic defeated Kristen Adamson by a score of 6-1, 6-4. Ioana Paun completed the singles sweep for Clemson at the number six position, defeating Amanda Eutzler, 6-1, 6-2.

In doubles action, Clemson’s number one team of Jayet and Lacelarie was victorious over Orellana and Peel, 8-0. The Tiger’s Richele LeSaldo and Anna Dolinska defeated the Spartan’s team of LaCoste and Adamson by a score of 8-4 at number two doubles. At flight three doubles, Savitskaya and Stanoycheva of Clemson topped North Carolina-Greensboro’s Eutzler and Kannan, 8-0.

The Tigers will travel to Greenville to take on the Furman Paladins on Saturday afternoon at noon.
