Clemson Women’s Soccer Wins ACC Regular Season Title

Raleigh, N.C. – #5 Clemson and NC State battled to a 0-0 tie in women’s soccer action at Method Road Soccer Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Wolfpack is now 9-5-3 on the season (2-2-2 ACC), while Clemson now stands at 15-1-1 (5-1-1 ACC).

Clemson outshot the Wolpack 16-5 but could not capitalize on their many scoring opportunities. Clemson’s best chance to score came in the 118th minute, when sophomore forward Deliah Arrington took a shot towards the far corner of the Wolfpack net, only to have it slide by the far post.

In goal for the Tigers, Katie Carson registered three saves and recorded her third straight shutout.

Clemson and N.C. State tied 0-0 in an Atlantic Coast Conference women’s soccer match at Raleigh, NC Sunday afternoon. With this tie, Clemson won the Atlantic Coast Conference regular season title with a 5-1-1 record in league play.

The Lady Tigers will be the top seed in the ACC Tournament on November 2-5 in Durham, NC.

This is the first time in school history that Clemson has won the regular season title. Clemson now stands at 15-1-1 overall and 5-1-1 in the ACC.

Clemson’s next action will be on Friday, October 27 at 7:00 against nationally ranked Florida at Clemson’s Historic Riggs Field.
