Clemson Women’s Soccer To Host Duke On Friday

Clemson, SC – The Clemson women’s soccer team will play Duke on Friday night October 5 at 7:00 at Historic Riggs Field. Clemson enters Friday’s contest with a 6-1 overall record and an 0-1 mark in the ACC, while Duke is 4-4 overall and 0-2 in the conference. The Lady Tigers are ranked ninth in the latest Soccer America poll and 11th in the NSCAA poll.

This will be the tenth meeting between Clemson and Duke in women’s soccer. Duke leads the overall series 6-3 but the two teams have split the last four meetings.

Duke is led in scoring by Casey McCluskey who has seven goals and 12 points on the season. The Blue Devils are coming off a 3-1 loss to number-one ranked North Carolina on Tuesday night.

Clemson is coming off back to back shutout wins over Virgina and South Carolina. Sophomore Lindsay Browne leads the Lady Tigers with five goals and six assists for 16 points. Earlier in the week she was named to Soccer America’s Team of the Week while also being selected as the ACC Player of the Week for her three goal performance against Virginia last Saturday night. Junior Deliah Arrington is second on the team with 15 points. Senior goalkeeper Katie Carson has started every game in goal for the Lady Tigers and is just two shutouts away from tying the ACC career record for solo shutouts.
