Clemson Women’s Soccer to Face USF in Tampa Friday Night

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s soccer team will travel to Tampa, FL to take on USF on Friday evening at 6 PM at Corbett Soccer Stadium.  Friday’s game between the Tigers and Bulls has been designated an NSCAA College Soccer Special Game of the Week and will be broadcast live on NSCAATV.com.

The Tigers are 1-0-1 after opening the season last weekend with a 0-0 double-overtime tie on the road against Auburn on Friday and a 1-0 victory at home against Furman on Sunday.  Freshman midfielder Catrina Atanda scored the game-winning goal for the Tigers against the Paladins, while freshman midfielder Tori Andreski recorded an assist on the play.  Freshman goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan recorded shutouts in her first two career collegiate games, tallying six saves in the two contests combined.

USF is also 1-0-1 on the young season, after defeating Arkansas-Pine Bluff 7-0 on Friday in Tampa and then playing to a 1-1 double-overtime draw against Texas on Sunday in Austin.  Junior forward Demi Stokes leads the Bulls in scoring with two goals and two assists for six points.  Sophomore keeper Christiane Endler posted eight saves in USF’s tie versus Texas.

Friday’s meeting will be the first ever between Clemson and USF in women’s soccer.
