CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s soccer team will play host to Duke next Thursday, October 17 at 7 PM at Historic Riggs Field in a contest designated as a “Pink Game.” Admission is free to the game, which will feature many exciting promotional opportunities for Tiger fans, as well as provide an opportunity to donate to a great cause.
Donations will be accepted at the game on behalf of Red Card Cancer, whose goal is to help defeat the world’s biggest opponent by uniting the global game of soccer in the fight against cancer. The Clemson men’s soccer team has already raised more than $4,000 for Red Card Cancer this year via a season-long promotion with the organization.
For fans who are unable to attend Thursday’s game but still wish to support the Tigers and their cause, donations are also being accepted via RedCardCancer.org. To make an online donation, click HERE, then select “I wish to support a particular physician or area of cancer research.” In the box below, type “Red Card Cancer – Clemson Women’s Soccer,” then fill out the rest of the form as indicated to complete the donation.
In addition to having the opportunity to support the global fight against cancer, fans will also have the chance to take part in giveaways and promotions at the game. The first 200 fans through the gate will receive a pink Clemson women’s soccer koozie and one fan will win a pink soccer ball autographed by the coaches during a halftime promotion.
A silent auction will be held at the game to auction off the Tigers’ pink jerseys. A table will be set up near the main gate for fans to bid on the jerseys, by jersey number. Bidding will close at the end of the first half, and winners will be announced during halftime. Winners must pay for their jersey, by cash or check, at the game, and the jerseys will be mailed to the winners after they have been washed.
There will also be a Residence Hall Challenge to see which hall on the Clemson campus has the most soccer spirit. Residents can scan their TigerOne cards at the Marketing & Promotions table inside the gate, and the hall with the most attendees will win a pizza party.
Admission is free to all Clemson women’s soccer home games. Make sure to come out to Historic Riggs Field on Thursday, October 17 at 7 PM to see an Atlantic Coast Conference soccer match between Clemson and Duke and to support a great cause!
