Clemson, SC – The Lady Tiger soccer team is ranked 14th in the nation for the second-straight week according to the Soccer America poll released on Monday, October 1. Clemson is coming off a week of play that included two double-overtime games against Atlantic Coast Conference teams. The Lady Tigers defeated Maryland 1-0 and tied eighth-ranked Boston College 0-0 at home last week to improve to 8-1-1 overall and 1-0-1 in the league.
Stanford is the top-ranked team in the Soccer America poll and Texas and UCLA are second and third, respectively. Virginia is the highest-ranked ACC team at fifth. There are six teams from the conference ranked between fifth and 22nd in the Soccer America poll.
The Lady Tigers improved two positions in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll released on Tuesday, October 2, moving from 17th place last week to 15th this week. Clemson is the second-ranked team in the Southeast Region according to the NSCAA, behind conference foe Wake Forest.
Clemson is ranked 19th according to the Soccer Buzz poll released on Monday, October 1, moving up 10 places from its 29th-place ranking in last week’s poll. The Lady Tigers also improved in the association’s region rankings, moving up three spots to become the third-ranked team in the Southeast Region behind fellow ACC teams North Carolina and Wake Forest.
The Lady Tigers will be on the road for four consecutive league matches over the next three weeks, beginning with a trip to Chapel Hill on Friday, October 5. Clemson will face 12th-ranked North Carolina at 7:00 p.m. at the Tar Heels’ Fetzer Field.
