Clemson Women’s Soccer Tabs Three All-Atlantic Region Selections

Clemson, S.C. – The Clemson women’s soccer team picked up three All-Atlantic Region selections following the 2021-22 season, United Soccer Coaches announced on Monday. Megan Bornkamp, Hal Hershfelt and Makenna Morris all earn their second All Region honor and occupy three of the 45 spots among the Atlantic Region’s First, Second and Third teams.

All-Atlantic First Team

Bornkamp picks up her second career All Region honor after also being named First Team last season. She led the team in goals this season with 10 as a center back and registered 30 points for the Tigers throughout the season, also a team high. Bornkamp was third in the ACC for total assists, fourth in points per game, fourth in total points and seventh in goals per game. 

All-Atlantic Second Team

Hershfelt was named an All Region honoree for the second time in her career after picking up Third Team honors in 2019. She played and started in all 20 matches this season. A vital part of the Tiger’s midfield, she was tied for second on the team with seven goals while adding three assists, totaling a career-high 17 points. Hershfelt was also tied for second on the team with two game-winning goals against Gardner-Webb and Pittsburgh.

All-Atlantic Third Team

Makenna Morris was named All Region for the second time in her career after garnering Second Team honors last season. Morris transitioned to the offensive end of the ball this year and registered a career-high 21 points, which was also good for second on the team. She played in all 20 matches and started in 19. Morris was fifth in the conference in assists per game and total assists.

All-Region and All-America teams are selected through voting by member coaches in their respective divisions.
