Clemson Women’s Rowing Wins Two Races At Michigan State

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Clemson’s women’s rowing team won two of the six races it competed in over the weekend in competition against two of the top 12 teams in the nation at Michigan State University.

Susie Lueck’s team competed against ninth-ranked Michigan State and 12th-ranked Washington State in the competition held on the Michigan State campus.

Clemson won the Novice 4 race with a time of 8:43.6, defeating Michigan State’s Novice 4 team by 39 seconds. The Lady Tigers also won the second Varsity 4 race with a time of 8:31.32, 17 seconds better than the Spartans.

Clemson’s Novice 8 team, undefeated last year, finished second in the race at Michigan State with a time of 7:38.36. Washington State won the close race with a 7:35.2 time and Clemson defeated Michigan State by just .37 seconds.

Clemson finished third in the Varsity 4 race with a time of 8:26.5. Michigan State was first at 8:10.6 and Washington State was second at 8:17.35. Clemson was third in the Varsity 8 with a 7:25.26 time and third in the second Varsity 8 in a time of 7:39.25.
